Kotaku is reporting that checks are finally in the mail for everyone who was "harmed" by the San Andreas "Hot Coffee" scandal from nearly five years ago. Take-Two Interactive, publisher of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, is mailing out payments of between $5 and $35 for claims that were filed by May 16, 2008. These payouts come as Take-Two's primary effort to "voluntarily fulfill all properly-submitted claims."

So, have we finally seen the end of this story after 5 years? Is a payment of $5 really supposed to "help" people who were "victimized" while obviously trying to access that content in the first place? If you ask me, these people should count themselves lucky to get anything.
